Condolence From: Diane D'Arrigo (Dee), Coalition on West Valley Nuclear Wastes, NIRS, West Valley Action Network
Condolence: I am so so sorry to learn that Lee has passed on... she was such an inspiration, a go-getter, doer and always positive and fun. It makes me furious when cancer afflicts and takes our loved ones away because we can change the world to make that happen less but not fast enough. That's why i so enjoyed working with Lee on the nuclear waste at West Valley--preventing more from coming in, preventing the horrible threat of incinerating radioactive waste there, pushing to dig up the leaking waste...Lee hosted many events at the Camp that moved us along in our struggles for a safer, cleaner environment including a civil disobedience training in 1980s, strategy meetings at critical junctures, pot luck get-togethers for meetings and base camp for cross country ski adventures. I am sad to realize i won't see her in this realm again. She is truly in my heart and i commit to following her example in energetically taking on challenges with joy and a smile in her memory and spirit. My love and sympathy to all her loved ones. i so wish i could join you for the memorial. i will be there in spirit and sad not to be able to see and cry and reminisce and celebrate her life with everyone gathered.
