Obituary for Bruce C. Kramer

Bruce C. Kramer of Southview Drive, Arcade died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw at the age of 87.

He was born September 18, 1931 in Ebenezer, NY to the late Thomas and Berniece (nee Doster) Kramer.

Bruce was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. He married Janet in 1968 and they retired in Arcade, NY. Bruce was an avid gardener and spent a great deal of his time in his rose gardens. In the Town of Arcade, he was known as the "Rose Man" for all the roses he brought to friends and neighbors. Bruce was also a big sports fan especially baseball and he lead the Chaffee-Sardinia Town team to the 1959 pennant at the Hamburg Fair. This was the first time in 14 years for the team.

He was a machinist for Winsmith in Springville.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet (nee Dick) Kramer who he married September 6, 1968 in Boston, NY; his children: Sherry (Nick) Damiano, Stephanie (Michael) DiGiovanni, Sandy (Tony) DeGroat, Stacey (Mel) Mitchell, Scott (Nadine) Kramer, Shawn (Heather) Kramer, and James (Ann) Banks; his son-in-law: James Hartman; his sister - Ann (Samuel) Feraldi; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Chuck Dick, Dennis (Violet) Dick, Sharon (Jack) Tousley, Leah (Norman) Wiedeman, Shirley Rhoads, and Wanda McKeon; his 17 grandchildren: Nickolas Damiano, Kacey Damiano, Samantha O'Hanlon, Nolan Kramer, Steffanie DeGroat, Ashlee Belz, Garrett DeGroat, Jolene DeGroat, Olivia Lippman, Brittany Banks, Grace Mitchell, Logan Mitchell, Shawn Kramer, Jr., Corey Kramer, James Hartman, Jr., Charlie Hartman and Troy Hartman; also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter - Kela Hartman; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty Dick, Ronald (Sylvia) Dick, Donald (Audrey) (Marva) Dick, William Rhoads, Jack Mckeon, infant Brenda Dick as well as a granddaughter - Jenna Banks.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11 AM. Interment will be held in Sardinia Cemetery.
