Carmon F. Becker of Yorkshire, NY died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Suzanne's Comfort Care Home in Perry, NY at the age of 83.

He was born August 1, 1935 in Holland, NY a son of the late Ralph and Maybell (nee Underhill) Becker. He was a United States Army Veteran and served from 1958-1960 and attended Pioneer Christian Fellowship in Arcade. He was also an avid bird-watcher, woodsman and gardener. Carmon's flower and vegetable gardens were impeccably tended and admired by many. He planted millions of trees with his father and brothers for the family reforestation business, and walked tens of thousands of miles on forest trails in his lifetime. He enjoyed and wrote poetry for much of his life and was published in various papers and magazines over the years. He was also an avid letter writer and corresponded with friends and family, as well as local and regional newspapers.

Carmon had worked for Quality Control for Fisher Price in East Aurora. After retiring from Fisher Price, he had worked as a caretaker for the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center.

He is survived by his wife - Susan (nee Chafee) Becker whom he married September 28, 1963 in Yorkshire; his children: Carlton (Wendy) Becker of Yorkshire, Wesley (Jennifer) Becker of Rochester and Holly (Richard) Hassett of Tonawanda; his siblings: Viola (Norm) Benzel of Chico, CA, Carl Becker of Grants Pass, OR, Conrad (Joyce) Becker of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Rolan (Sara) Becker of Ronan, MT; also survived by 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister - Faye (Alvaro) Torres.

Friends may call Friday, April 26, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2 PM at Pioneer Christian Fellowship, Rt. 39, Arcade. Pastor Jeff Hokenson will officiate. Interment will be held in Yorkshire Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Suzanne's Comfort Care, Inc., 167 N. Main St., Perry, NY 14530.

Now he's hiking in heaven with our old buddy Ray Hein, who died at age 90 last year.I also salute Carmon as a fellow Army veteran!

Dear Carlton and Family,
We share the sadness with you all in the passing of your Dad. It is gratifying to read what an outdoorsman he was and all his accomplishments. All of us here wish him well on his travels in the Great Beyond.

My heart is with you all at this time! May all of the happy memories help to comfort you. I will always remember visiting the beaver pond with Holly and being welcomed as an 'extended family' member.
