John Frank Kye of Holland, NY died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo at the age of 89.

He was born May 28, 1929 in Pittsfield, MA a son of the late John O. and Betsey (nee Frazier) Kie. He attended the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church and was a United States Marine serving during World War II. He enjoyed wood working, antiquing, whistling and attending flea markets.

John was a self-employed locksmith and owned and operated John Kye's locksmithing out of Holland and later East Aurora.

He is survived by his wife - Sally Ann (nee Hudson) Kye whom he married July 1, 1967 in East Aurora; his children: Rev. Dr. Sarah (Michael) Price of Richmond, VA, Bruce (Jean) Kie of Texas, Lois Starr of Springfield, MA and Nancy (Al) Senger of Springfield, MA; his sister: Marilyn (late John) VanSon of Texas; his sister-in-law: Charlotte Kie of Endicott; also survived by his grandchild - Cassandra Price along with several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter - Janet Kie; his siblings: Elwyn Kie, Paul Vollen, Mary Kie, Barb Twiggs and William Kie.

Friends may call Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 4- 8 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11 AM at the Yorkshire Free Methodist Church, 3172 Main St., Yorkshire.

Memorials may be made to the Holland Rescue Squad, 49 S. Main St., Holland, NY 14080 or to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
