Obituary

Violet E. Dick of Hosmer Drive, Sardinia, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Buffalo General Hospital at the age of 76.

She was born March 3, 1943 in Springville, NY a daughter of the late Harold G. Allen and Ellen M. (nee France) Allen.

She was a production line worker at Fisher Price in Holland as well as Prestolite in Arcade where she retired from in 2008 after working for a combined 40 years.

She was very devoted to her family and was very involved with her grandchildren. She enjoyed swimming and was a member of Regatta Racing where she won many trophies with her sister. She was also a member of the Sardinia United Methodist Church. She graduated from Bryant and Stratton college with an Associate's Degree while being on the Dean's List.

Violet is survived by her loving husband - Dennis Dick whom she married March 18, 1961 in Sardinia; her children: Jeffery (Kathy) Dick of Sardinia, Sonya L. (Mark) Bojak of Arcade; her sisters: Gladys M. (late Norbert) Kruse of Springville, Vivian A. (late Ronald) Mosher of Freedom; her grandchildren: Chelsea Viera, Bryce Little, Brandon Dick, Janel Dick and Jessica DeLude; her great-granddaughter - AvaLynn Dick; her special nieces: Elaine Mapes and Debra Kruse along with several other nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her brothers: Robert (Sue) Allen, Harold (Jane) Allen Jr., as well as her half-sister - Emma (Fordis) Lee.

Friends may call Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 3-7 pm and Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home 271 E. Main St, Springville, NY, where funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor Mark Weber officiating. Interment will be held at Sardinia Cemetery.
