Obituary

Michael James McMannus of Grove St., Delevan died Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence at the age of 68.

He was born June 12, 1951 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Robert John McMannus and Janet (nee Smeader) Smith. He was an Air Force Reservist and served from 1970-1976. He was a graduate of Pioneer Central where he ran high school track and played basketball. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and playing softball.

He had worked as a machinist at Prestolite in Arcade. He had also worked for Aronson's.

He is survived by his wife - Sandra (nee Gentner) McMannus whom he married on October 2, 1971 in Delevan; his children: Corinne (Steve) Lazarz of Delevan and David McMannus of Terre Haute, IN; his grandchildren: Kelsey Kinmartin, Brooklyn, Sofia, Emilie and Willow Lazarz, Tyson and Maddox McMannus; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Sue & David Hauser of East Aurora, Tom & Idalynn Gentner of Coolville, OH, and Karen & Armand Taddeo of Seminole, FL; his nieces: Samantha Gentner, Melody Amabile, Kaylin Amabile; his nephews: Eric and Kurt Hauser; his great-nephew: Tyler Williams.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father: Melvin Smith; his nephew: Symion Gentner.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 2-6 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade where a Funeral Service will be held at 6 PM. Rev. Tim Chase will officiate. Interment will be held in Delevan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or to HomeCare & Hospice, 1225 W. State St., Olean, NY 14760.

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. It seemed we only saw each other at the funeral home. I grew up as a neighbor of Mike and our families had lots of great memories. May he rest in peace.
