To the Mattson family,

From Marcia Hotaling.....
In all the years my husband Larry and I camped at mockingbird, we enjoyed our warmer seasons camping and we loved Mark. I can still see him mowing and with that big grin he had. I really respected the way Mark would spend time with my grandson Dejion, teaching him to fish and do groundskeeping work. Mark would work him hard and he'd come back to the trailer, exhausted and full of stories of the thing's he learned or did that Mark took time to show him. I respect Mark so much for that. Also, Marks willingness to share his faith with my grandson and the importance of knowing Jesus as his personal Savior is something I am so grateful for. He will be missed.
Praying for peace to each of you in this sad time of loss.

My dear friend, you were truly one of a kind, with a heart of gold. I cherish all the memories of our younger years at Mockingbird when things were care free and simple. You will be missed immensely. Happy at home again with MuMu, Dad and the Lord is where you are now. Rest in peace my first love! Until we meet again ..... Jill (Beyer) Feeney

I was so very sorry to hear of Mark's passing....his smile will be missed. Mark helped me navigate through the campground after the rain when I came on my motorcycle to see my cousin Linda. It was funny he knew exactly where to tell me to drive in order to miss the big holes. Then he chewed my ear off talking about bikes. I am glad to have known him and will keep your whole family in my prayers. God bless.

We are the hippies out on the Island at Mockingbird and always enjoyed our conversations with Mark when he stopped by, usually on a mower. Easy going nicest guy. We will miss him.
