Obituary

Mary Ellen Lewis of Holland, New York passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Machias at the age of 89.

She was born February 24, 1930 in Ebenezer, NY a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Weber) Kester. She was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and was active in the Holland Literary Club.

She was the founder and operator with her husband, Paul, of the Lewis Machinery Service which began in 1947. The business has since become better known as Tri-County Supply in Chaffee and has been since 1962.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children: Richard (Ellen) Lewis of Machias, Ronald (Diana) Lewis of Yorkshire and Russell (Kelly) Lewis of Yorkshire; her siblings: Robert (Mary Lee) Kester of Mayville and Dale (Rita) Kester of Jamestown; also survived by six grandchildren: Derek, Randy, Colleen, Errin, Amanda and Jessica; fifteen great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Brianna, Elijah, Charley, Cheyenne, Collin, Brendon, Dean, Riley, Addison, Connor, Lilah, Kessa-Jo, Kaete-ann, and Alyssa along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Lewis who she married on January 19, 1952 in Ebenezer; her son - Roger Lewis; her siblings: George Kester and Marjorie Szulewski.

Friends may call on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 2 PM at the Holland United Methodist Church, 11699 Partridge Rd., Holland, NY 14080 where Pastor Dave Kubiak will officiate. Interment will be held in Holland Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Holland United Methodist Church or to a charity of choice.

Dear Dick , Ron , Ross and family. Our deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful lady and will be greatly mIssed. Sorry we are unable to attend the wake , your in our thoughts and prayers . Love your cousin Cheri and Bob Brand .
