Jacqueline "Jackie" Truty formerly of Arcade, NY passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville, NY. She was 85.

Born in Buffalo, NY on June 17, 1935, Jackie was the eldest daughter of Chester and Regina (Wawrzonek) Truty.
Upon graduation from Pine Hill High School in Cheektowaga, she worked as a secretary at Bacon & Vincent Co. and The National Gypsum Co. Inc. in Buffalo. Years later, she worked in the Injection Molding Dept. of the Holland Fisher-Price Plant. After it's closing, she worked for many years as Parish Secretary at St. Jude R.C. Church in Sardinia.
Upon retirement, Jackie moved to London, KY to live near her brother and his family. In 2014, she moved back to New York and lived at Elderwood Assisted Living in Hamburg. In 2018, she moved to the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home.
Jackie's favorite pastimes included gardening, feeding wild birds and at holiday times, making pierogi for her family and friends. She loved growing sunflowers and watching the birds, especially hummingbirds, come to her feeders.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Cynthia (Richard) Domes of Arcade; her sister-in-law, Linda Truty of London, KY; her nieces, Jennifer (Richard) Tackentien of Arcade, Lori-Anne (Donald) Kearney of West Valley, NY; her nephews, Jarett (Laurie) Domes of Allegany, NY, David Truty of London, KY, Andrew (Michelle) Truty of London, KY, Brian Truty of Cincinnati, OH, and Philip Pirdy of Pleasant Plain, OH, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chester Truty.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Arcade Worship Site of St. Mary's Church, 417 West Main Street, Arcade at 10:00 am., with the Rev. Joseph Gullo officiating. Interment will be held in S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Arcade.
