I remember that my father, Hamilton Ward and his wife Ann (both gone now) would rent a house the first two weeks of August down on Lake Kueka from Judge Cook with their friends Sam and Sharon and sometimes Mike and Sandy. When I would come up to visit from Texas for a long weekend, we would get up before dawn and get on our bikes to ride around the Lake, approximately 25 miles. Our goal was to get back in time before breakfast was served. Afterwards, the day’s agenda was just to eat, drink and be merry . . . There was one meal that I will never forget and that is when Mike made a turkey in a garbage can . . . it was the most delicious turkey I have ever had!!!! To this day!
Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
