Scott Hilts

Owner/Funeral Director

Scott Hilts was a 1980 graduate of Pioneer Central and attended SUNY Canton ATC where he graduated in 1982 with his Mortuary Science Degree.


As a high school student, he started working summers and weekends for his father, Gene Hilts. He assisted with home removals, Funerals, pouring vaults, and setting monuments. He took over ownership of the W.S. Davis Funeral Home from his father in 2000. In 2011, he became the owner of the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home in Springville.


In his free time, he enjoys collecting Civil War memorabilia, spending time on his beef cattle hobby farm, deer hunting, and selling firewood.


He was a founding member of the Pastoral Consulate in Arcade, served two terms on the Arcade Historical Society Board, was an advisory board member of the Wyoming County Bank in Yorkshire, is a member of the Buffalo Bills Mafia, and is a lifetime member of the NRA. He also used to be an avid bowler.


In 1989, he married his wife, Lori (Klimczak) Hilts of Chaffee. They have four children and four grandchildren. He currently resides in Arcade with his wife.



Cortney (Hilts) Calvert

Funeral Director

Cortney (Hilts) Calvert is a 3rd generation Funeral Director following in her grandfather and father's footsteps. She is a 2008 graduate of Pioneer Central and attended Daemen College and ECC where she obtained her nursing degree.


In 2012, she began working at the W.S. Davis and Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home (Springville) while simultaneously attending online schooling through the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. She has been a licensed Funeral Director since 2016.


In 2018, she married her husband, Michael of Warsaw. She currently resides in Chaffee with her husband and two children, Caroline and Watson.



Shania Hilts

Funeral Director

Shania Hilts is a 3rd generation Funeral Director student following in her grandfather and father's footsteps with future plans of running the business with her older sister, Cortney Calvert.


She is a 2014 graduate of Pioneer Central and attended SUNY Fredonia where she graduated in 2018 with her Bachelor's degree in Business Finance and Public Relations. She also graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service for her degree in Mortuary Science in 2022.


In her free time she enjoys spending time with her dogs, family, friends, and boyfriend. She also enjoys crafting and making handmade items to occupy her time. She currently resides in Springville.


Lori Hilts

Florist/Bookkeeper

Lori (Klimczak) Hilts, formerly of Chaffee, was a 1983 graduate of Pioneer Central. She is the owner and operator of Always & Forever Flowers in Arcade in which she specializes in funeral arrangements in addition to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.


She also is the bookkeeper for the W.S. Davis and Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home.


In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, bird watching and collecting primitive antiques.


In 1989, she married her husband, Scott Hilts. They have four children and four grandchildren. She currently resides in Arcade with her husband.



David Miller

Funeral Home Assistant

David started in his position 10 years ago with W.S. Davis after a 47-year career with M&T Bank. Having worked at the bank with concern and dedication to clients, David brings this same level of dedication to his position currently.


In 2016, David earned his Certificate of Studies from Central Institute for Educational Advancement to become a Funeral Home Assistant. A member of several community organizations, David resides in Arcade with his wife, Claudia.
